Re: Welcome.
Well look what the cat dragged in... Only a handsome, charming and refined ex Para.
I was about on the old forum and when Admin asked me to join this I initially told him to get f*cked but then reflected and decided to join. I'm Tony- I tend to speak my mind and served 22 years in the Parachute Regiment.

Do not worry, I can vouch for Tony.
He may be want to fight everything, moan a lot and generally behave like a deviant but he isn't all bad.

Hello to you all.
I done a 2 year entry to uniformered services course a few years ago now with intentions of joining the police,
Due to life events I now am doing my best to raise awareness of mental health.

Re: Welcome.
Hi,
Welcome. Cracking that you are raising awareness of mental health mate. I’ll hold my hands up and say I couldn’t shake the stigma of it all.
But by telling your story you can maybe encourage others to ask for help. Welcome

Re: Welcome.
Hi Tony.
It's not easy and their is still a lot of stigma surrounding mental health I'm a great believer ( through time ) that if people continue to share their expeeinces/ stories in time this barrier that's been created will break down. It's a team effort as they say.
I will eventually put my blog post on here once I know how to.

Re: Welcome.
Good morning all, great idea about the well-being area. I’m a civilian support worker (Local Resolution Officer) for a certain NW police force!!
Prior to that I worked as a detention officer within custody. Have just shy of a decade working as support staff so more than happy to give an insight & answer any questions.

Re: Welcome.
Afternoon all, I'm BossHogg, an on road Highways England traffic officer and have been for 12 years. Previous occupations include seven years in RMP (boo hiss!) Also spent many years in security management, detention/custody officer and parking enforcement - my wife says I only work in uniformed services as I'm too tight to buy work clothes! Looking forward to being an active member on the forum.

Re: Welcome.
I don't wear a hat on the motorway, the wind will blow it away. I do wear a woolly hat when it's cold, and a waterproof hat when it's raining, which on Shap is all year round!

The verb shine has two past-tense forms: shined and shone. Shined and shone are competing acceptable past tense forms of the verb shine! Keep up

Re: Welcome.
That's fighting talk where I come from! not SIB, my mum and dad were married! That reminds me of being on night patrol, driving down Gun Hill and two inebriated baby paras shouted HAT at the car, I was not long out of training, my tutor corporal was a grizzly 15 year para provost corporal who was CP trained. Done Falklands, N.I. and numerous FCO tours. He roared at me to stop the car, the babies went white when they saw his maroon beret! He proceeded to verbally rip them to shreds, I won't repeat what he called them as there are ladies present!Tony_M wrote:You aren’t one of the SIB that shinned a light in my eyes and demanded I sign the ‘fession are you?

He can't help it, everyone knows the paras aren't very bright, I mean, who in their right mind would jump out of a perfectly serviceable aeroplane that's going to land twenty minutes later!Tartan wrote:@Tony_M
